The unclaimed artisan Carmen Abreu will B presentin’ her unaclaimed lovely work through many venues in the island of Puerto Rico. This unfamous artisan is the creator of wonderful handcrafted dollies that portray our insistencia of an official koolture like the bomba dancers and the plena dancers. In recent days she accomplished her 1rst collaboration with Madame Lyn-Go-Tee Hurtado. Madame Abreu created the 1rst MADame Lyn Dolly biutifully crafted with various Chinese imported fabrics and accessories and face features rendered in traditional stitching techniques.
Madame Abreu lives in the heart of a lovely countryside in the floatin’ island of Puerto Rico next 2 her mother and also talented son. She is a single mother that struggles constantly 2 survive in the anonymity of these wonderful crafty world where good taste and tradition in craft makin’ have made her continue with the tradichon of repeatin’ herself once and once again…’cause! If she don’t do that she can not sell many dollies 2 help her family even though she can go magical places with her craft as she have told that 2 her friend Lyn.
U can find Madame Abreu work around unfamous craft festivals all over the island but not @ the FAMOUS ones like Bacardí, International and other because sometimes her energy has 2 b well spent workin’2 make a livin’ 4 her and other loved ones…sooooOOOO when it comes 2 the tushy-tushy kissin’ 2 B main stream in these crafty matters, she just gives up & just keep makin’ her traditional dollies.Anyone can find these lost craftswoman anywhere by her brightful smile and artful hands. We just have 2 B eyes open wide. Next time u visit a crafts fair pay careful attention 2 these special hands that carry endless creative drive & hearts. Lyn just know that FAME is not 4 everyone but fortune should knock @ som peoples door once in awhile.
