, the preeminent voice of Latino youth in America, kicks off the weekend with the hottest up-and-coming Latino talent. Starting Friday, August 24th at 4PM, VIVO airs a special episode with Casa de Leones and the tattooed princess of television, Kat Von D. Then, on Saturday August 25th at 4PM, mun2 hits the road and takes on NYC as VJ’s Renato Lopez and Crash hang out with some of today’s leading Latin artists from Café Tacuba and Mala Rodriguez to Panda.
This week’s VIVO brings you the summer buzz with chart-toppers Casa de Leones and L.A. Ink‘s Kat Von D. Casa takes the VIVO stage to perform their hit, “No Te Veo” and their newest single, “Shorty.” The hot reggaeton act has been heating up the charts all summer long, holding down the top 5 in the Latin Rhythm charts for over 12 weeks. Hitmakers in their own right, the voices of Jowell & Randy with Guelo Star, Maximan and J King come together to create the powerhouse that is Casa de Leones. TLC’s super glam Latina tattoo artist, Kat Von D, stops in to talk tats with mun2’s own ink fanatics, Renato and guest host Crash. The next day, Renato and Crash bring the heat to New York with “mun2 on the Road: New York.” The mun2 VJs storm through 5 boroughs in 4 hours, introducing music videos, catching live performances, and interviewing some of the best talent in Latin alternative music. Renato chats with Mala Rodriguez in Battery Park, Café Tacuba at Central Park’s Summer Stage, and the Pinker Tones in the Village. Join mun2 for the ride in Manhattan, Queens, Bronx and all the wonders of the boroughs from the Staten Island ferry to the Wonder Wheel in Brooklyn’s Coney Island. Full of music performances and all the sights to see in NYC, “mun2 on the Road: New York” premieres at 4PM on Saturday August 25th.
