Chicago artist residency opportunity - Plaines Project

Now that summer is upon us, we at The Plaines Project plan kick all operations up a notch. This means making plans for our July, August and September exhibitions as well as recruiting artists to fill our residency.

Exhibitions:
We are seeking artists and collectives to exhibit work in our upper and lower galleries. We are open to all mediums, and are especially interested in the installation of art that seeks to activate the space through the utilization of multiple disciplines at once. Ideally the exhibitions will be of work that is produced specifically for the Plaines Project space. We believe that strongest works will be the ones that intentionally engage with the peculiarities that the space has to offer. However, we are open to show work that has already been created as well.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, e-mail us at PlainesProject@gmail.com with a written statement of your artistic intentions.

Artist Residency:
This summer we plan to officially launch the Plaines Project artist residency program. We are looking to import the most visionary and ambitious emerging artists out there to live, work and hold a solo exhibition in the Plaines Project space.

Resident artists will get a bedroom in the Plaines Project for 4-6 weeks (FREE RENT!), a personal 200 sq ft studio space to make work, and 250 sq ft gallery to hold a solo exhibition that is publicized by the Plaines Project.

We are not looking for people that already live in Chicago, but if you know anyone who might be interested in the residency, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!! and have them e-mail us at plainesprojects@gmail.com
