Este año un grupo de artistas mimos internacionales y locales participarán en este festival demostrando el arte de la pantomima clásica, post-moderna, contemporánea y experimental. Este evento será una explosión de estilos y técnicas diversas llenas de chispeante interpretación e imaginación.
Ahora AKON viene para Puerto Rico, como parte de su gira mundial que lleva el mismo nombre de su más reciente producción discográfica “KONVICTED�. Su concierto, bajo la producción de José Dueño, será el próximo 22 de marzo a las 8:30 PM en el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot.
El Museo del Barrio, New York’s premier Latino and Latin American cultural institution, will present The Disappeared (Los Desaparecidos). This traveling exhibition, organized by the North Dakota Museum of Art and curated by Laurel Reuter, brings together visual artists’ responses to the tens of thousands of persons who were kidnapped, tortured, killed and “vanished” in Latin America by repressive right-wing military dictatorships during the late-1950s to the 1980s.
Globalization has produced a transcultural convergence that allows the artists to not only break from the classical conception of culture but also find a mutual intersection that mixes cultural forms and lifestyles by cutting through the various national and ethnic boundaries previously defined by 20th century institutional multicultural spectacles.
Art Trailers is currently accepting submission for the 2007 issue. Submissions may consist of a complete work, a trailer, or just an excerpt. They must be 30 seconds or 60 seconds in length and may include Video Art, Film, Performance, Installation, Animation, etc.
The first, Gateway to the Arts Corridor, will be located at the entrance to the Arts Corridor (Budget $38,500). The second, Sculpture at the Swope, will be located in front of the Sheldon Swope Art Museum and will become part of the museum’s permanent collection.
Tinlark Gallery in Hollywood, CA is seeking work from new, emerging, and underrepresented artists in the media of painting, drawing, works on paper, and photography. Work will be vigorously reviewed, and each submission will receive feedback from the search panel.
The Port of San Diego is currently accepting submissions for its Sculpture-on-Loan Program, which serves to place one or more significant sculptures at high-visibility areas in the tidelands of San Diego Bay.
